I was born into a Mumbai-based small business family. Since childhood, I was very inquisitive & aesthete. I admired splendid pictures of cars and bikes. In fact, me & my elder brother shared this one common hobby of tearing down and collecting latest photos of cars & bikes from newspapers & magazines.

At the age of 14, I had my hands on a camera for the first time, when dad gave me our Kodak point-and-shoot camera to take photos of my cousin’s wedding. I got very excited and got engrossed with the so-called photographer job. I tried so many various angles and directions to produce some nice memorable images without having a single technical knowledge of the photography world. This was the time when I started knowing photography in actual.

Over the time, I started adoring mesmerizing computer wallpapers of nature, tourist places, wildlife, automobiles and also the charming & gorgeous pictures of celebrities & models, which always kept me wondered how beautiful such world can be through photographs. Well, but this wasn’t the start that I needed to venture into the world of light.

There was one more thing that had always fascinated me, which was Science ! As I grew up and completed my schooling in 2002, I became more rational thinker and less religious and thereby started questioning the existence of us the People, the Nature, entire Universe & ultimately the God. Unable to get any reasonable explanation for long, I got converted from agnostic to atheist and believed that, ‘Science is the Key to Universal Existence’. Hence, I started pursuing my higher education in B.Sc. (Physics).

But, as we get influenced by some people over the path of your life, one of my friend showed me bright side of his career stream which was Hotel Management. I decided to give it a try while I just started my second year of graduation. After getting a good score in its joint entrance exam, I decided to quit my current degree and join Hotel Management.

Eventually, I graduated with B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) degree in the year 2008. I got placed in McDonald’s as a Manager in one of the campus interviews held. I worked there for two years before I realized the drawbacks of this industry which wasn’t the life that I desired for.

There was this another thing in me which probably had always acquired my greater purpose of life, and that was to serve my nation and fly those fighter planes, after all it’s the best that can satisfy the thrill-seeker & adventurer in me. But, even after successfully clearing one of the toughest exam & interviews to crack, my destiny had decided my fate elsewhere; and that was not in the Air Force. I was rejected permanently in medical examinations just because I failed Ishihara colour perception test. Yes, they found me colour vision deficient; not that I cannot identify all colours, but its little different. After failing in my dream that almost came true, I was heartbroken and disappointed, and it was caused by none other than my own eyes, for that I had never thought my eyes would fail me.

Eventually, I joined my father’s new business and had been a part of it ever since. But, since it wasn’t my dream job, I felt incomplete and dissatisfied as my capabilities, knowledge & expertise were not utilized. Shortly, I got engaged and my spouse presented me my first compact camera, a Nikon Coolpix. In no matter of time, I decided to explore my new camera and we ventured off for a trek in the middle of the mighty Himalayas. Through the trek, I got enthralled with the beauty of this divine nature and got myself obsessed with landscape photography. It really took a while to revive myself from the dark times I had that shattered my dreams. But then I pledged not to give up and liven up my life & dream back on.

This was the time when I decided to pursue Photography as my auxiliary profession so as to make my eyes more capable in other way than what they failed me for before. Soon I got enrolled for a basic followed by advanced photography course from one of the most renowned photography institutes in Mumbai – National Institute of Photography. And then I bought myself my first DSLR – the Canon 7D. After successfully completing the course, I learned and mastered the art of photo-editing. In the meanwhile, I also practiced and fine-tuned my photography for a year to take it at a very professional level for kind of a perfectionist I tend to be.

Subsequently, I started off as a freelance professional photographer in the year 2011. I got my initial assignments from friends & relatives who got delighted with my pictures instantly. I started receiving many compliments & accolades over the time for the kind of photographs I shot and at an economical fee. But, this was just the beginning and I had a long road-map for future. Till now, I mostly shot events, but I was equally keen for other categories of photography as well. So, I started developing newer sense towards variety of subjects ranging from people to wildlife, architecture to landscapes and products to fashion, etc. Soon, I realized my affinity towards fashion and modelling since childhood, and I got enrolled for Diploma in Fashion & Studio Lighting from another reputed institute in Mumbai – FX School. This broadened my scope of work entirely and took my understanding of photography and implementation of exclusive ideas to a whole new level.

Over the years, my professional photography across different genres has evolved progressively and had made me more content. Shooting creatively with photography aspects and re-touching the images to the hardcore perfection is what reflects my style. Giving personalized touch to each image of the project is my biggest USP !

Photography for me is, “To shoot – the way it has always been dreamt of & desired for…!

I now undertake professional photography assignments for most of the spectrum like Events & Weddings, Fashion & Modelling Portfolios, Kids & People Portraits, Commercial – Food & Products, Corporate & Travel, Architecture & Interiors and Wildlife & Nature – all with my new Nikon D810 & D500 !
